Meet Jacklyn, the rising pop sensation who's gearing up to take the music world by storm! With the release of her debut EP, I’ll Be Fine…, she’s brought her signature smooth-as-silk vocals and irresistibly infectious pop energy to the forefront, cementing her spot as a must-watch talent in London’s ever-evolving music scene.

We at F Word had the pleasure of spending a lively morning shooting with this breakout star right here in London. And let’s just say, we couldn’t wait to dive deep into what makes I’ll Be Fine… so undeniably fine. Buckle up—you’re in for a treat!

F Word: What inspired the title I’ll Be Fine...? Does it reflect a personal story or theme?

Jacklyn: It’s actually a lyric from the 1st single off the EP ’Tuff love’. When thinking of what to call the EP, I sat down and listened through all the tracks I knew I wanted on the record. And the lyrics ‘I’ll be fine’ stuck out. They just felt like it was the glue that pieced the story of the EP together.

F Word: How did you choose which songs made it onto I’ll Be Fine...?

Jacklyn: It’s funny because originally the EP had a completely different name and had different songs on it. It was only when I started writing and recording newer material last year, after having gone through some trials and tribulations the year before, that it started to feel like these songs told a story cohesively. I felt they had to go together.

F Word: Did you experiment with any new sounds or techniques on this EP?

Jacklyn: Absolutely. I would say this was probably the most experimental I’ve been so far in my career. I took a lot of influence from early 2000’s punky/pop at the start of the EP with “You’re boring, I’m bored”, and the element of surprise being reggaeton drums. There’s also some really nice fun alt pop, pop and r&b influences in some of the Melodie’s and beats throughout the EP.

F Word: What does releasing your debut EP mean to you at this stage in your career?

Jacklyn: Releasing ‘I’ll be fine...’ means more than I thought it would. I think having this be my first body of work to come out, I wanted it to really show my style, but also give listeners an insight of what I’ve been going through these past two years.

F Word: What has been the most rewarding moment in this process so far?

Jacklyn: Honestly, just getting it done and out! The writing process is all fun and games, but the waiting around of planning the date that felt best to release, and the stress of anticipating how everyone will receive it was a lot. Now that it’s out it's a relief and the response has been even more positive than I could’ve imagined.

F Word: Who’s on your dream collaboration list now that your EP is out?

Jacklyn: This is always a hard one. My top 3 big dream collaborations are definitely, Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna (if she comes out of retirement) and Rosalia.

F Word: How would you describe the sound and vibe of this EP to someone new to your music?

Jacklyn: It’s a mix of nostalgic 2000’s pop/r&b with a blend of reggaeton and alt pop.

F Word: What excites you the most about where your career is heading?

Jacklyn: I think not knowing where it’s heading is anxiety inducing sometimes, but also super exciting. The journey is the best part and I’m just excited to see where it’ll take me (as cringe as that sounds).

F Word: Which part of the creative process do you enjoy the most—writing, recording, or performing?

Jacklyn: Definitely performing. The adrenaline you get being on stage and doing what you love is honestly and unbeatable high! It’s the best part of the job!

F Word: What’s your favourite F-Word?

Jacklyn: Not as original but 100% Fuck.
