F WORD: If you had to assign a temperature, a colour and a taste to this EP, what would they be?

T.EVANN: Crisp sunny morning by the sea, no more than 8°. Tangerine in colour, earthy but sweet in taste - like a pickled beetroot?

F WORD: What are you hoping people will take from this EP?

T.EVANN: I want it to be completely subjective of course but for me I took away the appreciation of subtle, less noticeable beauties of nature. I’ve had a fascination with lichen and moss throughout the writing process which has seeped into the visual and auditory identity of the album. Now, I cannot walk 3 minutes down a road without spotting something interesting. Hopefully other people can take this away with them after listening.

F WORD: What genre could you see yourself experimenting with for a future project?

T.EVANN: I’ve been in Hip-Hop, Soul and Jazz focused projects previously. I definitely want to bring these styles back into my songwriting as a solo artist. Although I've been listening to a lot of ambient music recently, I won’t be surprised if that also gets into future music one way or another.

F WORD: If you had to choose one component for a great record, what would it be?

T.EVANN: This is a hard one as I do love guitar but It’s got to be bass - the underdog of every great song.

F WORD: Go-to lunch on a studio/writing day?

T.EVANN: Something wholesome and nourishing, a steamy bowl of stew with a toastie is most probably the most popular midday songwriting scran for me. If it’s warm I’m most probably making Vietnamese summer rolls.

F WORD: What’s bringing the most joy to your days lately?

T.EVANN: Listening to records on my Hifi and a morning bike ride. I get inspiration and pure enjoyment out of both. Usually after doing one or both of these I'm reset and ready to take on the day.

F WORD: If you had to choose a new career completely outside of anything having to do with music, what would it be?

T.EVANN: I’m a big foodie so it would probably have to be something like running my own restaurant / delicatessen. Otherwise, I've always loved Pixar films since I was young so maybe 3D animation?

F WORD: What advice do you have for yourself for tomorrow?

T.EVANN: Be patient, stay focused and enjoy the process.

F WORD: Do you believe in manifestation?

T.EVANN: 100%, it’s very good for the soul.

F WORD: What is your favourite F Word?

T.EVANN: Frangipane: Ultimate sweet treat.
