A DAY IN THE LIFE: CLAUDIA VALENTINA

SPECIAL THANKS EDGE PUBLICITY

At just 24 years old, singer-songwriter and performer Claudia Valentina is carving out her own space in music—fearless, unfiltered, and impossible to pin down. Hailing from Guernsey and steadily rising, she returns with her latest single, When I’m High, released via Electric Feel. A continuation of her raw yet genre-blurring sound, the track delves into self-destruction with brutal honesty—fully aware of every reckless choice, every inevitable consequence, and still moving forward anyway.

Accompanying the release is a striking VHS-style music video that feels like chaos and clarity colliding in real time. It’s a no-filter, behind-the-veil glimpse into Claudia’s world— late-night highs, morning-after reflections, solitude, and recklessness stitched together in a way that refuses to explain itself.

Naturally, we at F Word had to dive deeper into the making of When I’m High— and we’ve got some behind-the-scenes shots from the filming day to go with it.

F Word: What was the biggest change you made to the single during the writing process?

Claudia Valentina: The biggest change was probably just surviving long enough to finish it lol I’ve lived like ten different lives getting here, and now I finally feel like I know exactly who I am as an artist.

FW: What are you hoping people will take from this song?

CV: I hope they get more of who I am. Maybe laugh at the dark shit that I do or awaken some more bad bitches. The project is a big, messy, soup of emotions, and if it makes someone feel seen—or at least like their bad decisions are a little bit funnier— then I’ll be happy.

FW: What genre could you see yourself experimenting with for a future project?

CV: I', the genre.

FW: If you had to choose one component for a great song/EP/album, what would it be?

CV: Authenticity. You can tell when someone’s faking it. I spent years writing songs to make other people happy, and now I write them to make myself happy. I like music and lyrics raw af.

FW: Go-to lunch on a studio/writing day?

CV: A chicken wrap from Dialog.

FW: Fuck, marry, kill: album, EP, single?

CV: I’d fuck an album—still a virgin there. Marry the EP and Kill the single unless it goes viral.

FW: If you had to choose a new career completely outside of anything having to do with music, what would it be?

CV: I would die lol

FW: What’s bringing the most joy to your days lately?

CV: BandLab! I can make songs on my phone while I’m doing other shit like when I’m in an Uber or the strip club.

FW: What’s motivating you the most lately?

CV: Just seeing this whole project come to life. I’m obsessed with building the world around the music—the visuals, the storytelling. I spend too much time on mood boards but it’s my shit.

FW: What advice do you have for yourself for tomorrow?

CV: Trust your gut

FW: Do you believe in manifestation?

CV: Absolutely. I manifest everything in my life. It hasn’t fully done its ting yet but I got high hopes. You have to visualize what you want, believe it’s already yours.

FW: What is your favourite F Word?

CC: Feral
