COLLECTION: FILIPPA K SS'19

FILIPPA K SPRING/SUMMER 2019 words Andrea Ward

Swedish label Filippa K introduces us to their latest campaign revealing the sleek sophistication and relaxed elegance this Scandinavian brand has mastered in over two decades of design. The campaign looks into life within the city limits and the contrasting elements that enhance a sense of freedom and lightness.

Headed by founder and designer Filippa Knutsson, Spring/Summer 2019 draws inspiration from the idea of stillness one finds at random and unexpected times. These are rare moments. Short slices of time that make an immense difference when seen against the business and stress of the urban jumble. Titled "Start/Stop" the campaign follows the minimal yet strong and consistent aesthetic Filippa K has become known for. S/S'19 was designed looking attentively into consciousness and comfort, infused with freshness while translated into a classically minimal aesthetic that ticks all the boxes of contemporary-wear.

Spring/Summer 2019 reaches both the men and women's markets with distinct yet cohesive designs following a pattern of pale beige, navy, sage green, and white. Light beige trench coats are paired with tailored soft shirts and sweats-style pants while the cropped tailored trousers add a slightly extra hint elegance to the collection. From one piece to the next, s/s'19 is the perfect translation of what contemporary design should look and feel like as it combines classical design to a more relaxed and easy look without compromising beauty and elegance.
